a chain is supposed to be for life, i wouldnt be worth changing till high milage like 400k or something.

if the timing could not be locked in position correctly without there being slack between the sprockets, that would indicate a chain has stretched beyond its limit, which isnt very likely.

There isnt a kit to buy. Parts are.seperate.

Mk6 and 7 tensioners.are different.

Well timing hadnt jumped on the rac van. The rocker had broken right off the frame and looks like thats wots caused the damage. Timing was still spot on. Pistons have lightly touched valves which always seems to be the case.

So have you seen any mk7 tensioners that fail the same as mk6 and can be pushed back past ratchet yet :?:
