Before we scrapped the other van, i manage to get it unlocked by following the advice from here and because it's a non-runner, we scrapped it after.

today i had a look at the van and this is what happened.

i applied some power via jump leads and it gave it enough power to unlock it.
i left it to charge via the jump leads for 10 mins, and when i went back it had enough power to light the dash and for all the other thing (radio, lights, heater etc)
i went to turn it over and it just clicked. so i left it another half hour and tried again....once again clicking.
i did some research on fordtransit.org and it said to clean the terminals on the battery and the cable that connects to the battery.
after i had cleaned the battery i re-installed it and connected the cables...nothing, it had no life what so ever.
i got the jump leads back on and left it to charge for 1 hour, i went back and it didn't have any power in the van battery (except 2 volts)
the jumper cable were defiantly connected right.
i got out a volt-meter and put it on the car battery, it read 14v and then tried it on the van battery and it said 2v.
Is there a fuse gone or is the battery dead forever or what. i will be going back next wednesday. :?: :?: :?:

If you take it off top the water up, tap water will do for topping up a little.
And give it a good charge trickle charge for 24,48 hours it may revive it.
Charging by the alt on a running engine isn't the same as trickle charging.

It's clicking, because it doesn't have enough power to turn over :|

It's always worth a try to charge the battery before buying a new one :)
