Alternator fitted by Ford, not a Ford

had to have a new alternator fit to our 54 plate connect today as its bearings have just about gone but working fine.
the alternator was changed by ford free of charge at about 3 1/2 years old cos it had usual complaint from 12 months old ( charge warning light on, flickering lights etc..)
but the one taken off( by the guys we rent ramp space off to work on mk1 transit ) is not a ford or motorcraft!
could local ford have been paid by ford UK to change it but put a cheap 1 on ?

As Ford do fit them :wink:

Dont think ford ever made alts ? allways been bosche or lucas back in the day or mitsubishi nowdays, seen a few nippon ones as well :?:
