Central locking

Postby Clay Ed » Fri May 17, 2013 5:33 pm

Hello,

i don't know it i'm going mad or not.

When locking the van the central locking has started going mad. It does stop when the van is running but defaults to locked. I don't know if it did it before, i have only noticed it today. It unlocks when getting out of the door and It locks on the key as normal. N.B. I have no key fob remote.

Is there a trick to activating this or is it a fault?

Cheers in advance.

thanks for the interest.

The locks cycle when the key is in position 3 when actually engaging the starter. Once the motor is running and the key released the locks stop cycling and finish in locked position.

When doors are shut is the the interior light switching off, if not then the CL thinks one of the doors is still open, each door latch has a door ajar switch built in they can each be tested with diagnostics plugged in, maybe a wiring problem, wires chaffed somewhere, to save you pulling your hair out get it plugged in, that way the fault will be found in no time
Please don't send me PM's, i can't access them, when I try I get this:

When all doors are shut & the If interior light remains on after a few seconds (Time delay) doors will lock then unlock
A faulty door ajar switch in one or more door lock mech will give the same result
