TDCi cuts out under acceleration

Unfortunately I'm currently in hospital with kidney stones so I'm a little in the dark, a freind has a TDCi connect he is saying that it cuts out and dies when he is accelerating, I have tried asking if its been code read, sadly he is not mechanically minded so does not really know, at the mo whoever is playing with it has thrown allsorts of parts at it and is now suggesting a pump @£700 fitted, I'm trying to find out a bit more info and will post when I hear has any body experienced anything similar ? I have suggested running of a seperate fuel supply, that's not been done as yet though

Mine does the same every now and again, some people say its the injectors BUT it had a new set 6K ago, check the wiring conectors on the back of the HP pump. Should really get codes read to see whats going on, also best to get diag plugged in and look at live data to see where the problem is

I have told the chap this, trouble is I'm in hospital and unable to plug mine in I think it's almost a wasted post until the diagnostics are done !

yes find out what dtc's have been posted. I think it would indicate a drop in fuel pressure.
