Crank pulley has a very light wear line where it has been running in the old seal but I havd also tried another pulley.
Wasnt a genuine ford kit as the parts were nearly £700 trade so opted for the Lymm kit as much cheaper, although the hub for the pump sprocket and bolts were genuine ford parts
Wondering whether to get the genuine chain casstte from ford and fit using the tensioner and hub in the lymm kit
Pulley doesnt look to be running eccentrically when fitted and not noticed any end float whilst working on it

Dropped the van with ford for tem to diagnose
Had a phone call earlier confirming breather system is ok and there is no overly bad wear on the pulley. They've also checked the end float in the crank and there isn't any
I'll update what they find but given them the go ahead to strip and redo what ive already changed

Well heard from ford dealer today and to say I'm disappointed is an understatement
Ford have checked everything whilst stripping and done all the seals etc I have done as well however ive been informed its has leaked....again
They are checking all the timing again however they say whilst manually spinning the crank that 3/4 spins easily whilst 1/4 takes more force.
They are suggesting that the crank has ovaled although I'm not sure how this would have happened and surely it would have leaked before?
Either way if a main component like that has failed with full service history in 4 years and 120k then it screams poor design and manufacture
Going to wait for dealers final verdict tomorrow then going to approach ford UK as if that's the case the lifespan of the vehicle is appauling.
However i dare they wont want to know and being as have now spent multiple thousands, im going to have to source another engine, guessing the more common KKDA is the one to opt for?

What's that Chinese about? Is that codewords for a bent crank? This would be causing the crank seal to fail as we thought previously. It could only have been that or the seal being actually torn by a rough surface. I dunno about you but if this has started recently and it is getting worse, I would be very careful your crank isn't about to go. If the journal is going out of round and is getting stressed you could end up seizing at the very minimum. Shite quality control by Ford and a dodgy crank has found its way into your van, or so it seems. Really bad for you, genuinely sorry for you.

Its a long time later but an update.
Ford had the van for over a month and didn't manage to solve it, numerous attempts were made to collect but mostly ended in issues rendering the van undriveable
Sorted an independent 1.8 tdci specialist in Barnsley who does these day in day out.
One day and van is sorted
Picking it up tomorrow so I can actually start using after owning nearly 5 months

Did the specialist say what the problem was ? Or was it just main dealer incompetence ?

Well, are you going to let us know what it was? It would be the decent thing to do you know.
