central locking problem, locking then unlocking?!

Postby davieboy » Thu Jul 02, 2009 10:54 pm

got a prob with the central locking, i get out the van and remote lock the van, and then it just unlocks itself strait away! ive disconnected the central locking unit for now so i can lock it manualy to make it safe. any one else had this problem? or is there anyone in birmingham who would be kind enough to let me swap the central locking units for 10 mins to see if its my central locking unit, i think that could be the problem but dont want to buy one and then find out it isnt that.

thanks in advance

It's often the SLD or rear door contacts which need cleaning :)

Yeah, I got this problem as well, I think my back doors are ever so slightly out of line (mm's), usually shut them more firmly and that does the trick. Still annoying tho when youre walkin away clickin the remote and you can hear it unlocking :? :? :?

This has started to happen with me and it is only during very hot weather cooking the dash, left windows open a bit last time . Might sort reflective windscreen blind out, operates correctly once van cooled down. Holding the key after using it to central lock ,locks that door, can park next to a wall or post to protect the other side if you get caught out.
