this is the one -

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/FIESTA-LEATHER-ST ... 3caa6535aa

the Fiesta ST one is exactly the same (apart from saying ST on the metal bit) but not worth going for as they go for usually at least 20 quid more

will see if ive got a pic somewhere of my one fitted to the van

Does anyone know if these wheels fit the facelift connect (2007 model)? Also, what is involved with the airbag, do I use my old airbag and fit it onto the new leather wheel? Can you swap them without disconnecting the battery, or setting them off?

Thanks

This is from a MK6-7 Fiesta, doesn't say zetec though, is that important?

What I meant was the advert didn't specify zetec, not that it did not have zetec written on it. I thought all MK6-7 Fiesta's had zetec motors, or not? I might want to buy it because it is good condition, no other reason. I could not really give a toss whether it has a cheap bit of silver plastic on it, or is ST, Zetec, etc. I just want a good condition one that fits! Besides, I thought ST ones had 'ST' stamped on them?

I have been searching, but the few instructions are poorly explained and very vague.

While we are on the subject, what are the implications with disconnecting the battery on these connects? If the battery is disconnected does it effect any of the electronic birds nest that is crawling all over the van? Some I have read remove their airbag without disconnecting the battery. If the battery is disconnected, does the airbag automatically power down?

Hi,
When I did mine i just disconnected the battery (20 mins beforehand recommended),removed the airbag, took off the old wheel, put on the new, refitted airbag, powered back up (reconnected battery) , then just set the clock and the radio presets, thimples!!! :D :D

Tourneophobic, that sounds too easy -- it cannot be! I have been trying to do other things with my van and have been really wary about disconnecting the battery. I thought it caused all manner of problems, alarm, engine managment going haywire, airbags etc.

Got to get rid of that hideous plastic steering wheel though.

Boghopper, it is as simple as previously said, ive change a couple of steering wheels and they are easy as long as you leave it for 20-30mins with the battery disconnected. Also another tip is that you might want to disconnect the horn at the "siren" end in the engine bay, then you wont annoy the neighbours when you take the airbag out

Gt_addict, are you saying if I disconnect the airbag it sets the horn off? I didn't know that -- why does it do that?

Actually just ignore what i just said  I just remembered a time when we left the battery connected so we could turn the steering wheel (powersteering) to get the bolts undone on the back of the wheel so we could remove the airbag, the only trouble was that we kept leaning on the steering wheel and setting the horn off. So We left the battery connected until we got the bolts out then disconnected it for 30 mins then unpluged the airbag, but of course once the battery is disconected the horn doesnt work, lol

Bit confusing but hopefully you get what i mean
