got hold of a focus engine with the same engine code.but still had to change must parts from the old connect engine over as different.
even the clutch was different which stop the connect petrol gearbox from fitting.also the bracket that holds the o/s driveshaft on the back of the engine block was different which knocked out the alignment of shaft.
im a bit disapointed in preformance with the 16v my 110 sport had more go show the 16v a hill with a bit more than your lunchbox in the back all it wants to do is run home and cry to mummy
Didn't you know Connects with the factory LPG kit fitted, only run at
75PS !
Only connects with the 1.8 Zetec-E EFI engines running on Petrol are 115PS
The gearboxes & driveshafts on pertrol connects are the same on a standard 75PS / 90PS diesels (Except 110PS sportvan, Same gearbox but different version with Axle ratio of 3.80)
Do do understand why you had to change the clutch, as originally the replacement engine had a B5/IB5 gearbox bolted to it instead of the usual MTX75 box.
Personally to get 115PS, I would get rid of the LPG. Change engine To the Zetec-E EFI with ECU. possibly replace engine loom.
Here is a breakdown of the Connect & Focus engines & gearbox types & axle ratiosFocus Engines are 1.8 16v Zetec-E EFI (115PS) 5 Speed B5/IB5 gearbox with axle ratio 4.06
Petrol Connects are 1.8 16v Zetec-E EFI (115PS) 5 speed MTX75 gearbox with axle ratio 4.06
LPG Connect Engines are 1.8 16v Duratec Flex Fuel - Zetec (75PS) 5 speed MTX75 gearbox with axle ratio 4.06
Connect TDDI 75PS - 1.8L Duratorq - Lynx TC (75PS) 5 speed MTX75 gearbox, axle ratio 4.06
Connect TDDI 90PS - 1.8L Duratorq - Lynx TC (90PS) 5 speed MTX75 gearbox, axle ratio 4.06
Focus TDDI 90PS - 1.8 Duratorq - Lync TC (90PS) 5 speed MTX75 gearbox, axle ratio 3.41 (Lower ratio gearbox, hence why the focus TDDI 90PS is alot quicker than the Connect van with same engine !)
Connect sportvan - 1.8 Lynx OHC TC (110PS) 5 speed MTX75 gearbox axle ratio 3.80 - (Lower ratio gearbox)
