Experienced lack of power again since starting the car. Drove 50 km, turned off the engine at speed and restarted. BANG! The power was back.

Is that legal in Estonia? Or are you on drugs?

You turned your van off at speed,so you had no servo brakes
No powersteering, what wound you have done if the steering lock came on or it didn' t restart?

Ok, now I got it. The other poster was on about the same thing, saw the other one on the second page first.

I did it on a spare airfield, no worries.

If your turbo is spinning when you turned it off it wont do it any good at all.

I suppose turbo spins at acceleration and high rpm, not a steady roll ~1500 rpm

(before more misunderstandings: I put it in neutral and allowed to fall back to idle before restart)

Lots of short trips would then kill it quickly?

Okay, took it to the dealer and had the codes read. It reported something about MAP and a vacuum leak but the sensor itself is supposedly well. They weren't too specific about it. Anyway, they recommended changing the leaking turbo hoses, which I did. €76 a piece. We'll see tomorrow, if it helped.

No power loss today. Not even when first starting in the morning @-25°C. Guess it was the turbo hose leak.

No, €76 a piece. Ford costs premium to maintain here.

i have a work van with this problem.connect 1.8.tddi 05 plate 15000 miles on it not serviced regulaly.i had throttle position fault put new throttle on no differance.new diesel filter no differance.when first started no throttle responce at all couple of minuits idle goes up to 1000 revs then you have throttle but doesent react as it should only revs to 3000 revs have checked turbo linkage by hand and it moves freely there is no movement in the finns.the intercooler flexi pipes do exoand slightly the van will not pull in any gear 20 mph max only other code was battery temp sencer i read a few answers but nothing to confirm is it the intercooler, the pipes are wet with oil,i cant here any air leeks.with it having no throttle responce could it be pump end.am at a bit of a loss with this any help would be gratefully recieved thanks
