Hi guys. I fitted a steering wheel out of a Mondeo today and looks a lot smarter. It all fits good apart from the horn doesn't work anymore.
Do I need to alter the wiring?

On the wiring for the original connect airbag the 2 wires for the horn are on terminals 6 & 7 at the plug
For the horn on the mondeo one, the 2 wires are on terminals 3 & 4 at the plug

This is why the horn no longer works

You have 2 options

1. Removed the 2 horn terminals on the mondeo plug & refit them to 6 & 7

or

2. Remove the plug from connect airbag & join the 2 horn wires to the mondeo one.

Very is job to do, just need 1 small flat bladed screwdriver & 1 socket to remove bolt to secures steering wheel to steering column. Whole job takes 30 min to complete !

1. disconect the battery & leave for 20 min (Must do this to de-activate airbag system)

2. With battery still disconnected, on back of steering wheel you will find 2 small holes. insert flat bladed screw driver into one of the small holes & release airbag spring, then do the same with 2nd hole.

3. with the airbag unclipped, pull unit up & out away from steering wheel & unplug airbag.

4. remove bolt securing steering wheel to column & remove wheel. fit new steering wheel & refit securing bolt.

6. plug in airbag connections & then insert airbag unit (bottom first) into sterring wheel & push down & in until unit clips ion to place.

7. re-connect battery & job is complete :D :D

I will doing this steering wheel swap in the nect couple of days so now i know how to!!
