Pm Graham taylor, The is the top Connect steering wheel fitter in the UK, Some say he can remove a steering wheel in as little as three days and that if he had bought a Focus steering wheel he would have thrown it down the drive if he could get the left hand spring out. All we know is, Hes called Graham

Joking aside, ive had my fiesta st steering wheel for over two years now and still not managed to fit it!!!! i even took it to my local garage and left the van with them for two hours...they ended up calling me and telling me to pick the van up because they could not get the original one off!!!!

Has anyone actually done this themselves and has it been an easy job for them????

Very is job to do, just need 1 small flat bladed screwdriver & 1 socket to remove bolt to secures steering wheel to steering column. Whole job takes 30 min to complete !

1. disconect the battery & leave for 20 min (Must do this to de-activate airbag system)

2. With battery still disconnected, on back of steering wheel you will find 2 small holes. insert flat bladed screw driver into one of the small holes & release airbag spring, then do the same with 2nd hole.

3. with the airbag unclipped, pull unit up & out away from steering wheel & unplug airbag.

4. remove bolt securing steering wheel to column & remove wheel. fit new steering wheel & refit securing bolt.

6. plug in airbag connections & then insert airbag unit (bottom first) into sterring wheel & push down & in until unit clips ion to place.

7. re-connect battery & job is complete :D :D

Just got one of these so will be attempting this as soon as it comes. Took me ages to find this thread though so thought I'd resurrect it incase anyone else is trying to find it.

Its not hard, just fiddly, need to be patient, and have a really small screwdriver/pick, note which way the clips release, as this helps a lot pushing them in the right direction...
