Strange scraping \ rubbing noise

Hi All, Ive got a strange rubbing \ scraping noise from the pump area, I thought it was the idler pulley at 1st so I removed the auxiliary drive belt, run it up and the noise was still there, I put it back on then made the video, if you have a listen at 36-37, 100, 213 & 220 secs you can really hear it, any ideas what it could be

Did you ever cure this? I have a very similar grating noise when cold, and last night, I noticed my headlights were dim. Then, when the grating went the headlights returned to full brightness again. My money is on the alternator bearings skidding, was that the problem with yours by any chance?

That was a long time ago.
It was the HP pump grinding itself to pieces, it's has a replacement focus 115 hp engine and box since

Ah, that's nice, made my day that has. Like talking to the grim-reaper when you come out with stories like that. I was thinking of something far more innocent. Your noise on the video does sound very much like mine though. Tell me, was your noise there constantly or did it disapear when warm? Mine seems to go after a short time. I have also just remembered, the van did a little hiccup last night as well, like a small flat spot.

Just to say, the hideous, metalic, scraping noise I had on my Connect was the alternator this time.
