New front heated screen due to be fitted shorty, then MOT time.

Still waiting for DVLA to get back to me, hoping to get it back on the road by the end of the month

In the mean time been busy sorting my drive out - still have another 20ft to do.

To those who have been knocking the guy for his hobby,
Some guys spend there time watching 22 fellers chasing a bag of wind or knocking the crap out of a golf ball for their past time and pleasure, obviously this guy takes a lot of pride, pleasure and satisfaction from doing these modifications,he his also expanding his personal knowledge on what will fit what and from which model and year of the connect van which he is very willing to share with us people who just swap and replace bits to keep our vans on the road at a minimum cost,i just wish i had the time to do a major project but alas most of my spare time is spent keeping a fleet of family cars maintained and on the road for the wife, daughters, son-in-laws and 8 grand kids along with all the other things they want me to fix as fast as they break them.
So i say the best of luck with your project paul2012 and thanks for sharing with those of us that appreciate it

I agree with you there. By the time you've got all the tools & equipment in, not much room is left

Decided to investigate into why there was a knocking sound emanated from front wiper assembly when switch on.

Cause, badly worn pivot joint. - (click on pic below to view vid)



A replacement assembly was required - obtained one from a 2009 connect - Motor had already been robbed. Not a problem, original is still working.

Firstly remove wipers, scuttle panel, upper partition etc.



Once wiper assembly has been removed, it's a good idea to clean away all the crap & debris that accumulates there over the years



Compare replacement part (top one) with old part, then remove wiper motor.



& refit it to replacement, note the position of the arm bolted to wiper motor. - yes I cleaned the motor up




Refit replacement assemembly along with upper partition etc




Job done, no more knocking when wipers are on

I hope that's not oil on your new drive good job with the van and drive I've done a couple of blocking paving drives and the second one I did was even if I say so my self as good if not better than any pro job I've seen they use block splitters I used a diamond blade in a grinder.

Not dissimilar to the Mk6 rack The wiper arm spigot 'bushes' on mine were so worn that the wipers weren't contacting the screen over the full sweep of the wiper, so I dismantled the rack, drilled through the plastic bushes, and fitted some brass pipe of the correct internal diameter for the spigots. They work fine now, and I saved the price of a new rack
