As had a small problem when using Mondeo 125ps calibration.
Too much engine torque at low rpm (1800) causing clutch slip when connect is fully loaded
Spent a couple days swapping ECU calibrations...
If I have done my calculations properly. Engine BHP/PS works out like this....
Using the following equation
Torque X RPM divided by 5252 = BHP.
Using info from the capture below. first convert torque Nm to lb-ft - 212Nm = 156.34 lb-ft
156.34 X 3629 Divide by 5252 = Engine power of 108.02 BHP (
109.52 PS) in 4th gear at 82 mph
Then doing the same for the capture below - 176.99 X 3011 Divide by 5252 = Engine power of 101.46 BHP (
102.87 PS) in 5 th gear at 90mph
Its has a much better torque curve through the rpm range over the Mondeo's
It also accelerates a lot quicker with loads of power left over, No need to change gear from 5th to 4th to overtake lorries, Just put your foot down & the power is there straight away
Testing off road (old airfield) came in handy
So I've decided to stick with 110ps with transient torque overboost calibration (
