I agree it maintenance free.

I've have tried chrome powder coat in the past. To be honest it didn't give that highly polished mirror effect.
Plus it's a real pain to get clear coat (powder) to stick, but then I'm using a cheapo Eastwood gun.
Once on a baked, it tends to turn greyish... :(

If the center's are plastic I wouldn't polish the alloy as it'd look odd in my opinion. Metallic grey powder coat ;)

Well after trying to put together a few silicone hoses with a few aluminium bends. To replicate this hose...

Image

I've given it up as bad day job  There's just not enough room. :(

So bought this new one from Ford - Only available as a complete section from turbo to intercooler :?

Image

Route it takes when fitted...

Image

Image

Buy the time you have air intake hose from filter box to turbo & PCV hose to cam cover in place. It's a tight squeeze hence why is has so many bends in it.

now I have a spare metal top boost pipe...
Good job I didn't order the rest of the silicone hoses - Pointless changing them leaving 1 as standard

Checked live data via IDS & here are results :D

At 60.2 mph - 2013 rpm

Image

At 70.2 mph - 2351 rpm

Image

I really need to set the perimeters for the IDS live data

MAP, VNT turbo & vehicle speed goes of the chart :? As shown below

At 72 mph - 2414 rpm in 5th gear...

MAP 35.3 psi (2.4 bar)
VGTDC (Turbo) 98.3% - When at 0% vanes are fully open.
Engine Torque 264 Nm

As had a small problem when using Mondeo 125ps calibration.
Too much engine torque at low rpm (1800) causing clutch slip when connect is fully loaded :(

Spent a couple days swapping ECU calibrations...

If I have done my calculations properly. Engine BHP/PS works out like this....
Using the following equation Torque X RPM divided by 5252 = BHP.

Using info from the capture below. first convert torque Nm to lb-ft - 212Nm = 156.34 lb-ft

156.34 X 3629 Divide by 5252 = Engine power of 108.02 BHP (109.52 PS) in 4th gear at 82 mph

Image

Then doing the same for the capture below - 176.99 X 3011 Divide by 5252 = Engine power of 101.46 BHP (102.87 PS) in 5 th gear at 90mph

Image

Its has a much better torque curve through the rpm range over the Mondeo's

It also accelerates a lot quicker with loads of power left over, No need to change gear from 5th to 4th to overtake lorries, Just put your foot down & the power is there straight away :D
Testing off road (old airfield) came in handy :D

So I've decided to stick with 110ps with transient torque overboost calibration (9T11-12A650-GD)

Then yours would like identical to mine :D

Platinum & Ford LS RNS satnav are easy to get hold off.
it's the Connect Sportvan seats that don't turn up very often...
