Rates per mile

Postby steveohim » Sat Apr 12, 2014 1:53 pm

I'm going to be using my transit connect for doing deliveries and collections etc and I was just wondering how much I should be charging for fuel per mile? My transit is a 1.8 diesel

It costs me 17p per mile for fuel alone to run my 1.8 TC.
You will have running costs (servicing and repairs, etc. ) and standing costs (road tax & insurance, depreciation etc.) on top of that. If you had a bank account that gives you a good interest rate then work out what interest your costs would have got you and add to your standing costs. Then divide all your costs by last years mileage will give a figure that you can start from (pence per mile ). Don't go below it.
