Injector faulty, possible to change it myself?

Postby freerida » Sat May 03, 2014 4:04 pm

Hi. Got P1202 error code which indicates problems with the injector on cylinder #2. Anyone else experienced this and what did you do to fix it?

check the wiring for chaffing clean the plug also may be water ingress in the solenoid if all ok then the injector is at fault and will need program to the ecu using ids or a very good diagnostics machine :(

Thanks for the quick response. The wiring seems ok, but maybe I could test them with a multimeter somehow? The mechanics I can understand, but electrical systems is not my cup of tea ;)

What PS do you have ?? If wiring is OK then you are right in the injector being faulty then you do have to reprograme these when you refit it take thew 16 digit code of the injector (letters and numbers) and put it one either ids or a launch system ( my own recommendation) to put the code too the ECU

What is the description of the fault code?
What year is connect?
You can change yourself easy as pie but its the recoding that will need to be done.
can supply injector if need.

This is a 2010 T220 with the 110ps engine. Here is a picture of the injector

OnEbay I found one fairly cheap, but will it fit? They share the "4M5Q-9F593-AD" which is the first part of the part number, or maybe the whole part number and the rest is the part ID for the coding??

I just read that these Siemens injectors does'nt need reprogramming, can someone confirm this?

Reason you ask is because fault code different to different fuel systems hence why i asked what year/spec van is.

Sounds good DB! I will measure the resistance of the injectors tomo, that should give some answers to. I'm praying there is only one irregularity, if not you can hook me up with more injectors?

cheers

I wouldnt worry with resistance check.
It wont work as they are not a standard electr magnetic solenoid. They are piezo stack and you will need a mega tester to check.
if you got a fault code i would clean the plug connector first as they suffer with that and tighten the pins up on loom connevtion. Try this before replacemnt mate as they not cheap.

I'll check the wiring for current then and if they check out ok I will do as you say :D
