2006 1.8 TDCi
Was running OK (minus injector problems)
Removed the fuel filter and emptied to see if any metal filings in system (none luckily) so replaced with new filter now just wont start... after first replacement it started and idled for about 10 seconds from fuel in pipes then just stalled and wont restart.
Just pulled lines off filter again and it is totally dry, nothing being fed into it at all, left the incoming pipe off and cranked over, not a drop of fuel.
Any ideas?

Did you fill the new filter with fresh diesel before fitting?

Brain freeze moment... starting fine now 
just used a suction pump to pull fuel through into the filter
