eBay special ! Dump valve

Whilst trawling through eBay I found this

A dump valve ? I have had some proper cars in my time where a dump valve was justifiable but I have always been under the impression a diesel needed a recirculating valve ( no woooosh )

Seems like it would cause more harm than good !

Any ideas ?

Diesel don't actually need a dump valve at a as they have to throttle body to shut to cause any sort of stalling pressure to the turbo. So they are pretty pointless on a diesel.

Euro 3 engines don't have a throttle shut off valve in inlet manifold

Throttle shut off valve was is use for the Euro 5 with DPF, up until last year (2013)
