Manual mirror problem

Put some new colour coded mirrors on van. Manual they are... Had to take manual mover out of door card & remove the 3 wires that adjust mirror from its holder... Is there a certain way of putting the 3 wires back into holder as I've put it all back together & when I adjust the mirror it's not goin where I want it...
