won't start

Postby hotrodharley » Sat Oct 18, 2014 10:21 pm

just put a used engine in my 2010 transit connect..there is a little black box[aboutsize of a relay]that has 2wires.one goes to harness and second one goes to body ground but it is pulled out of little box;;located on top of engine above alternator area..what is this and with ground not hooking up then would this prevent from starting?another thing did was pulled the crank hub off to give me room to get eng out and other back in;;noticed no key-way to put hub back into same location..so does it matter or since it was removed could that not be in correct spot or is that a issue...have checked everything and everything is pluged in tight..

Hi I'm still learning myself but did you use the engine control unit ecu from the new engine ? If not may not connect to the fuel pump ,perhaps that's it ?
