Transit connect heater problems

Postby Keironf89 » Tue Oct 21, 2014 7:28 pm

Hi I have a transit connect 53 plate. The problem is with the heaters it only works on setting 4. And never blows on the windscreen. I replaced the rheostat which worked on all settings then stopped and only worked on 4 again. Still no windscreen. With coming into winter would like this setting. Any advice appreciated

If it's blown the resistor pack again then it's the motor at fault. The not aiming to the windscreen could be a broken cable which is not opening the valve. That in turn could be putting stress on the motor and hence blowing the resistor again.

Thanks. Where would I find the motor? And is it an expensive fix?

The resistor pack is fixed to the blower motor. Should be behind the glovebox. Not a massive fix really, source a working second hand one and fit it.

May want to check the cables first before going through the hassle of fitting a new motor.
