Transit connect Engine swap Problems

Hi all, looking for a bit of information.

i bought a 2003 transit connect with bottom end failure i was told, so cut a long story short bottom end was f***, massive hole in the block.

So bought a 2001 focus 1.8 td everything is same as transit engine, car was running and drove in to my garage, since change ive not had the van running, ive even used the chip, transponder and ecu off the focus and still nothing whatsoever, it turns over but wont fire. everything is plugged in correctly, i sprayed a little easy start the other day and it fired up but then cut out.

is there anything else i may need to change??

Are they both the same engine? Both TDDI or tdci? if they are the same engine then I assume you swapped the pump over too? Hence using the focus Ecu etc?
