Engne mount problem?

Postby Cheese Monkey » Thu Dec 04, 2014 8:57 am

Getting a loud thud when changing gears 1,2,3 unless I'm ragging it or very very gentle with clutch. Plus when I switch engine off it feels like hell, shakes the van noticably and sounds awful.

Quick search suggests some sort of mount come loose? Doing 200 motorway miles a day so wouldn't be surprised. If it's something I can fix myself that would be nice

If it has gone then have a grinder ready as I bent the bolt on mine and had to cut it out.

Recycling old threads again.
Lower mount is shot and rear bolt is well & truly rotted in.
Had the rattle gun on it and got the bolt doing a 1/4 turn but taking the mount core with it.
Is the nut on top captive?

What's the drill here? hacksaw?

Get decent releasing fluid on the top of the thread where it pokes out the captive nut, undo and redo up several times to work the fluid down the thread  ignor the mount core till it's of fthen worry about getting it off the bolt your changing it with the mount anyway.
