2006 1.8 75ps tddi questions

Postby Connect-rick » Sat Feb 28, 2015 1:26 pm

Good afternoon!

I have a few questions regarding my little beast!

I'm looking at having her re-mapped but unsure of a few things.
I've got 2 options, knock cat out or de-cat, possible intercooler swap and air filter or....
Would i be better off putting the 90ps ECU on it instead and could that be mapped?
75ps as i guess you all know, is pretty gutless! I've had her for 2 and half years and no intention of selling so thought I'd spend a few quid on her.

body wise, cills are looking shabby so a trip to a body shop is being booked in. Front and rear colour coded but was thinking of swapping the front bumper to 57 plate shape, will it go straight on?

Thanks in advance for any advice

Rick

Focus airbox, performance filter decat then remap. 57 bumper will fit but need to change front arches too.

Thanks Graham, I'll get started soon.
With the de-cat would it be better to get a pipe or knock the insides out as i was intending?

Connect 75ps TDDI.

Fit a Focus mk1 TDDI PCM (ECU) has they are 90ps.

You'll will have to get Connects fuel pump reprogrammed to it though (unless you also fit the Focus mk1 TDDi fuel pump)

& yes it could be remapped from there

While your at it, dump the connect gearbox in favour of one from a Focus mk1 TDDi/TDCI 8)

If your up to it just knock the guts out of your existing cat and certainly the cheaper option otherwise fit a stainless steel one for about £90
