Anyone know if a gearbox from a 2009 model will fit my 2007 connect van?
Thanks!

Have been offered a 2007 1.8tdci Focus box part number 6M5R 7002 ZB
Had a look round the forum to find info and think it will fit using connect gear linkage parts..
Any info appreciated!

Yes you can fit Focus G\box but ONLY from a Mk1 Focus:

viewtopic.php?f=54&t=149429&hilit=f9da

the 6M5R 7002 ZB is Mk2, it'll fit on the engine no problem BUT the support \ mount where it bolts on to the case is different

Well thanks to some good advice here I've a good replacement gearbox with a much better final drive ratio.. :)
Problems still exist in a lesser extent though! Initially I had vibration probs coming from the transmission, changed driveshafts as a tad worn, engine mounts too as they past their best and although better it didn't solve the issue..then my mech found that a bearing had shifted on the driveshaft output needing the box to be changed..this has improved the vibe 100% but its still there!! using the van with the gearbox bearing fault knackered one of the new driveshafts we fitted too!
Can feel it through the accelerator pedal and floor mostly..sometimes the vibration is there and at other speeds and loads not..mostly felt at low speeds pulling away..steering wheel doesn't wobble like wheel balance issues, although you can sometimes feel the vibe coming up the steering column..driving me nuts now!
Wallets not happy either! all ideas welcome.. :(

its not a knackered strut is it mate ,had the prob you describe on a berlingo van , turned out to be the strut and front wheel bearing

Welcome to the forum :D

Yes a Focus mk1 (1998 -2004) gearbox for a TDCI or TDDI will fit.
Connect gearbox ratio is 4.06 where Focus is 3.41

I have found that the 3.80 ratio is too tall for the our Connect and what we use it for (van shows, days out etc) but can't speak for other people use them or how they drive. In fact I haven't even driven any other Connect, but in all other respects it drives ok.

For example in 50mph roadworks you have to stay in 4th as the van is labouring in 5th gear, quite heavily if there is an upward incline, bet it'd be awful if it was laden.

2000 in 5th is an indicated 60mph and thats about as fast as we go in it, so the 4.06 would have suited it better, making it more responsive.
