connect intercooler hoses

looking at the flimsy intercooler hoses on my transit connect , im thinking of upgrading to the silicone ones on ebay , they do not have the metal rings on them as the standard ones have , but they are 5mm thick and have a lifetime warranty , they are 12 quid each , anyone on here running them ? any comments good or bad appreciated

If they are 5mm thick im sure they don't need the metal rings for support. Certainly cheaper on ebay than fords. I bought a new one when I first got the van and they charged me the silly sum of £37 for ONE.
