Brake fluid grade

Postby Spike2450 » Fri Mar 20, 2015 3:30 pm

Hi, have a 95 plate 110

Need to know what type / grade of clutch and brake fluid.

Searches turn up Dot 4 and super Dot 4 and just went to the motor factors who with my reg said Dot 5.1. Don't want to mix. Anyone with an idea would be great.

Without sounding rude, have you checked the manual? It's usually in there.

DOT 4 and 5.1 are glycol-based fluids and are compatible with each other, you can mix them no problem. make sure its DOT 5.1 and NOT DOT 5 as that is silicone based and wont mix, the only difference between 4 & 5.1 is the boiling point
Please don't send me PM's, i can't access them, when I try I get this:
