Whats the name of this door seal on a FTC SWB?

Postby coffee_king » Tue Apr 21, 2015 2:46 pm

Its on the passenger side on a SWB. It goes from the body of the vehicle across the top of where the passenger side door shuts on it to the sliding rear door.
As you can see mines had and when it rains the rain gets in the vehicle and so I need to order a new one. (Somenes trued to badly glue it back on together before)
Name, model or part number would be great please.

Thanks

Perhaps this is the correct seal:

http://www.fordpartsuk.com/shop/ford_transit_connect_lh_front_door_upper_weatherstrip_f_5082416_c_287.htm

if not.. One would have to explore the junk yards or the dealer for more details.. The parts site I found above is located:

FordPartsUK
2 Telford Road
Churchfields Industrial Estate
Salisbury
Wiltshire
SP2 7PF

Give them a contact.

Hmm, that looks and sounds a bit many make generic.
Does anyone have some kind of official FTC breakdown of parts e-book / pdf?

So is it supposed to be part number 25324?
The part I'm looking at goes some way in the body of the vehicle behind the side sliding door. That pics looks like it doesnt?

The 2008 vauxhall corsa van had an almost identical seal which also fell off

King.. would it be worth while to actually remove the entire seal just to verify which it is.. I'm still thinking the full door seals as I've suggested above with the part number. last resort.. driving to the ford parts retailer. But if you actually remove the seal and take it with you to the parts counter. They would know for sure.

Hi
Here is another pic of what I'm looking for.
As stated it actually goes into the side sliding door too.
Its basically what stops rain from getting in, so maybe its called a weather guard or something?

Image

Any further thoughts?
Thanks in advance.

I've had exactly the same problem on the drivers' side, but it had come adrift in the middle. Yours is irretrievably mangled . I've just restuck mine at the weekend (tried & failed with 2 tubes of superglue, but persevered with double-sided carpet tape) .... fingers crossed now for the rain on Friday.

It's actually U-channel to drain away the water from the unguttered door frame, so common to cars, etc. and should be available from any garage or a decent parts shop. It's the same on both sides, and whether SWB or LWB. The reason it comes unstuck is because the centre section is under tension. It doesn't follow the contour of the doorframe, but is stretched slightly for 15cm or so to form a flat section to hug the top of the closed front door.

Vans are designed for people with imagination. Cars are so limiting ... what can you do with them?

Hmm, so if we think its called
'U-Channel'
and I look at this
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Car-Van-Rubbe ... 1265025774

It doesnt look like it though. This looks more like what you'd put on to two joining welded edges on the lower section of where you step into the vehicle.

I would class it as a body weather seal or that's what we call them in the trade

It's just called a seal.

The one you want is either :-

or
Ford Part No F5082416 (For Connect LWB)
