Transit connect down on power

Postby chappersdw » Mon Jun 22, 2015 7:14 am

Hi guys we recently bought a 2003 transit connect 1.8 diesel turbo for work but it is extremely slow. Now warning lights or strange noises runs lively but just totally gutless! Our 1.9 half dead belingo is like a rocket compared lol!

Any advice would be appreciated

Depends on the engine. If it's. Tddi 75ps then it would be rather slow. Easiest way to check is to look under the bonnet for electrical wiring going to the injectors (not a big red single wire, that's the glow plugs). If it has got electrical connections then it's either a 90ps or 110ps tdci and they aren't that slow really, so may well be something not right.

They are the slowest of the connects and won't shift really. A remap could help, but it's up to you if you want to spend te money. Vantuner (martynx on here)does postal re maps for around £150 (well it was when I had mine done) and they transform the van. He's based in Uxbridge I think so all depends how far you need to travel for a more personalised tune.
