Ford transit connect speed limiter!

Postby Jenrigby1 » Fri Aug 07, 2015 11:58 pm

Hi guys

I have a 2006 transit connect and want to remove the speed limiter it has been remapped but couldn't be removed from the map.

It has also been on ford ids main dealer machine and it won't give the option to remove the speed limiter!

Has anyone had this issue and know how to resolve it?

Welcome to the Forum :D

Speed limiter can be easily disabled via Ford IDS as shown here  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7rL0PYBNEQ8
I have disabled limiters on loads of connects with no problems.

Although when limiter is disabled via IDS it also deletes the remap you've had done :!:

Turns out it won't go over 95mph (on road or axle stands)..
Would need to see the ecu 's files to help further ;)

Vans are designed for people with imagination. Cars are so limiting ... what can you do with them?

Well...no, not a limiter in the normal ford set way like 56,60,70 etc but still an issue , as all others the company had tuned flew past 100 & that's what the customer expected...so maybe an issue somewhere....

Anyone thinking of piping in with not legal, unethical , what about your tyre rating etc can hold onto their ink.. boys older or younger love power & speed, & will seek it out on our roads regardless. :!:
