Connect engine swap

Postby 19eddie82 » Wed Aug 26, 2015 12:48 pm

Hello all, I'm new to this forum and also a new connect owner, I've got a few questions that hopefully somebody can help me with. I've bought a 2004 transit connect with a snapped cambelt and I've decided to swap the engine for one that I e heard running with lower mileage, the donor car is a 2004 Ford Focus 1.8 tddi, my question is will this fit, I'm gonna be changing the timing belt on the new engine anyway so it's not much more bother swapping the pump from the can over! Is this all I need to do to make sure it runs??

Also Ile be using it for work so would like to stick a small compressor in the back to run some air tools has anybody every tried this and had it wired up to the car and is it an easy job.

Thanks in advance anyway and look forward to all your input and advice

Sorry if it's a daft question, it's probably been answered before but where would I find the engine code?

Thanks for the link.

Yeah I mentioned changing the pump whilst I'm doin the belt and both engines are on the floor. The donor car is definitely a 18tddi so I'm hopeful it'll go in, the only other thing I was thinking is if it's worth just Swapping the head over and leaving the engine where it is? Any thoughts?
