Please help think I've broke my work van. Non start!

Postby NorthernDan » Thu Sep 17, 2015 10:33 pm

Good evening

I'm in a right hole so with the wealth of knowledge on here I'm trying to get some help please.
Ok my van is a 2006 swb 220 connect 80000 on the clock looked after could do with a good wash but it's fine.

So yesterday I put up a post with regards to the center console heater, fan direction lights going off.
Now as daft as that sounds if something is a miss I try to get it sorted ASAP as I like to stay on top of things.
Someone said try the bulbs (derrrrrrrrrrrr me!!) so tonight I went to have a look.
First I checked the fuses behind the glove box all good
Next I took out the radio (face off) with hands free parrot wired into it.
It also has the mk2 surround
Undone the few screws as to pull out the console to access the rear
I never totally took this out it was only enough to unclip the twist cables
I then just tryed the key don't ask why I just did (sixth sence?) and the red immobiliser light was flashing like mad!!!
No heater plug light coming on when it always does?!, Air bag light very dimm?! Battery light very dimm????
it just won't turn over?
Looks like the battery is dead but theses 12v good strong battery
checked all fuses in glove box and under bonnet everything is fine!!
Ive had everything back together as it should just i case I've disturbed something.. No joy
Had it all back off again no joy
Tryed the spare key in case it lost code..no joy!
Tired to lock/unlock with key..no joy
Checked all plugs connections all fine
Please help me out I'm lost.
I've tired to run by the steps I took to get me to the none start point.
Can I just say this van does not skip a beat starts first time every time.
And wants for nothing
I'm now going to be losing money as this is my work horse all for the sake of checking a bulb!!!!
I feel like crying.

Anyone with just a small inkling please help me out.
Thank you for your time reading this long essay

Sounds like you have a problem with the key/immobiliser. Not sure what you have done to cause it or may just be coincidence. If you have two unique coded keys you could try coding it again.

It's a nice custom to report back what was the problem and how did you solve it.
