wipers wont turn off

Hi I have a 2010 tourneo connect and the front wipers are on permanently and the washers and rear wash/wipe doesn't work anymore,any ideas whats wrong?

Can you unplug the wiper stalk and it stops?

I haven't tried yet but it stops when I pull the fuse out I have been told it could be the instrument cluster but that's expensive

The rain sensor only turns the wiper on in the intermittent position, your wipers should be off at zero i think

The wipers are on in every position

Wipers on 2009-2013 Connects are controlled via GEM module

Get DTC's (error codes) read.

I suggest unplugging the wiper motor and metering the contacts for shorts then check the connector for power.
Unplug the wiper stalk also.
You need to find out if something is shorting at the input and output as above, finally you'll be looking at the gem for faults

I'd be checking all earth leads for corrosion, especially the main engine to chassis.

This sounds not to dissimilar the probs that airthies had on his mk7, due to high current leaking through other systems.

The earth cables are ok but the fuse f180 is blown and keeps blowing when I put a new fuse in
