Driver door speaker

Another small problem found :? Drivers speaker not working i bought it like this thinking it just needed changing, i bought a replacement today i have plugged it in a theres a noise when the radio comes on along with a strange smell a no music???

could be an earthing fault.

Sounds like head unit to me,

Could be something as simple as a break in the speaker wires somewhere.
