The Old Inner Front Tyre Wear ...

Postby axxeman » Tue May 03, 2016 9:04 pm

Hello guys - 04 plate TDCi 1.8 90. Got to around 28k miles and the inner edges of the fronts had worn away. Of course, off I toddle to my contact to get the tracking checked and adjusted. All was as it should be. However, he did say that if negative camber was the root cause, you can toe in a little harder to negate that effect. And that is what he did. Told me to check the wear pattern every 200 - 300 miles or so...

It'll be interesting to see what gives.

To be fair, the old Hankooks didn't have a great deal of tread across the rest of the tyre, and I was only made aware of it as an MOT advisory.

Have you noticed any difference yet? It's early days for tyre wear, but is fuel consumption any better or worse? :)
