Help, timing chain case stuck

Postby Piglet » Wed May 04, 2016 10:55 pm

Help!
Please pretty please,
The bit Ford call '6K011 1131928 Housing Assy - Timing '
That's the big casting that holds the timing chain.
I've got it all free and moving BUT something is holding it at the bottom.
There isn't a bolt from inside the sump is there?

Oh, man. It's like bloody Déjà vu! At least by finding this thread I am now relieved that it isn't specific to me. How did you remove the bloody thing in the end, may I ask? I have been at it for two hours so far, how long where you messing with these obstinate things?

Well, you see you have the engine mount bracket off, that's the four bolts that compress the timing case gasket against the block. When I took mine out water started oozing from them.

I have tried everything with this rear case and it won't budge. I have nothing left that I can remove that would help me get it off. I cannot believe a gasket can be gripping it like this.

Jeez my memory is awful I don't remember writing that.
I'm sure there is 1 or 2 bolts from under through the lower casing. pulling it down onto the rubber seal.
