Common Front End Knocks?

Postby axxeman » Tue May 10, 2016 9:41 am

Hello forum, had my 04 for a shade over two years now. Replaced n/s/f bearing twice but nothing else ...

Lately, I have noticed a knocking noise when I turn left sharply at low speeds; supermarket car park or sharp corners in areas where you are doing less than 15 mph. Might be coming from the right front but cannot be sure, so;

What are the common places that would wear and produce this. Rule out drop links as they were changed for MOT 2 months ago. And there were no advisories regarding suspension or steering etc ...

Thanks, as always.

In addition to that: tie rods, inside and outside.

I had exactly this fault on my 2006 Connect.

Two garages failed to find the knocking when l turned, so l took it to Ford. The fault? Loose front subframe bolts. Look under the van, just behind the front wheels, and you will see two bolts holding the subframe at each side. Check they are not loose!
