Ticking on acceleration

I've had the van for two days now and every single noise I hear I think there's something wrong.
Today I noticed that on acceleration from standing still there was a very slight ticking noise that got faster and when at higher speeds it was not noticeable .
It's a 2004 tddi and I've been told it's chain driven, so could it be the noise from the chain that I'm hearing or is it likely to be something worse.
It's only at around 5-10mph and it's not when turning corners either.

Its not a stone caught in the tyre tread is it?

No mate, it's like a quoted version of a cv joint clicking when on full lock and moving , if that makes sense

Hi did you ever get to find out what the noise was down to? I have the same issue van drives great but makes the same noise but disappears once you get speed up.
