Ford connect clutch recalls

I put a national clutch in my connect, 2 weeks later it's slipping, I spoke to a guy I know in the parts shop so he contacted his parts supplier, he was told they have recalled national and luk clutch kits on transits, so I have got a Valeo replacement to put in tommorow,also if you check euro parts they never have any luk clutches in for the past month, anyone heard anything regarding this issue?

This may or may not be connected ( ) , but I have heard of LUK & other manufacturers of the solid conversion for Dual Mass flywheels stopping production / sales.

A chap at work has a Mondeo diesel & his dual mass is rattling, I mentioned the LUK solid conversion and he said that a mechanic mate of his told him that they have been stopped due to snapping crankshafts because of the (I think) weight difference.

then you have a warranty claim. Only if the clutch was fitted my a garage or independent mobile mechanic

Yeah I guess that's what the guy in the shop is doing sending it back, because I'm getting the Valeo clutch kit for nothing extra coz they can't get a national or luck one anymore, I've heard the Valeo ones are better anyways

i have a valeo in my van 350 2.4 tddi

and also fitted transmech a think from luk as well to many and many of my customers and not had one come back yet

Fitted the new clutch, feels loads better

I have a transit connect 15 plate long wheel base. It has 38k on the clock and the clutch has started to slip. Ford say this is fair wear and tear. Is this correct or acceptable or does anyone have the same issues??

Wondering if the 15 Reg connect, if it's been like mine has, smelling burnt when you need to give it some beans to mount a curb of pull away when on a steep slope?

I'll keep a watch as I'm just approaching 32k miles
