Gear selector issues

Evening guys,

A topic covered a few times but I need a bit of specific info.

I have issues with 1st, 3rd & 5th.
I can select all gears but it only just clicks into the forward gears. Theres no definite travel you'd expect with the stick.

After some reading, it sounded like the roll pin on the selector mech may be at fault so I stripped it out of the box.

The roll pin is fine but the roller bearing on the end of the selector shaft has disintegrated dropping all its ball bearings and a piece of the cage in the box.
II'll have to fish around with a magnet to find as many of them as I can.

I've found the bearing online for £4.
Does anyone know how much stripping down the selector needs to replace the bearing?

Also,

The reason for the short gears seems to be the white plastic cable sheath under the centre console is fouling the stick.
As if it protrudes to far and there isn't enough space for the stick to travel.

Are the cables fitted right?
Are they adjusted right?
Or is it time for new cables.

It is driveable but hopefully one of you guys will come up trumps again.
