Blowers only blow cold, electrical fault ?

Postby Karl88van » Wed Oct 12, 2016 2:07 pm

Had an intermittent blower problem for a while, would sometimes blow hot,
Now they only blow cold, gets up to temp,
new thermostat and head been skimmed so that rules that out.
Are the heaters electronically controlled? Is ther a unit i can chamge that may have failed?

05 1.8 tddi

Getting cold on a morning, need this sorting.

Thanks in advance

Mite add - the blowers work on all settings 1,2,3,4 - just no heat

Either your heater matrix is blocked, or the water regulator that sends the hot water to the heater system isn't working. Have you checked that the cable connected to the hot/cold dial is functioning :?:

Cable is working, blowers drop in power slightly when i turn from cold to hot.

Wher is the water regulator located ?

It's possibly at the side of the heater box, but I don't own a Connect, so can't have a look for you. It should be easy enough to follow the water hoses from the engine to the heater box
The only electrical part of a heater is the fan, everything else is mechanical :)

Ive read that ther is a resistor that can fail but i think thats just for the fan speed.
