Transit Connect cluster failure.

Hi ladies and gents.
I'm after some help regarding my dads 2006 transit connect 1.8td.
Basically he jump started a Ford Focus using his van, it was working when he jumped the car but not when he restarted the vehicle. I've done a few searches that suggest it could be fused 37-48-59 so I've pulled these, their all fine, I left the disconnected to reset the timer module but this had no affect.
Now I'm assuming the cluster has had its day..? Or is there anything else to try before replacing the cluster? I'm assuming once the cluster replaced it will need to be plugged it and updated on theecu?
Thanks in advance chaps.
