Injectors on TDI

I've just been told that any more than two injectors need replacing on my connect 1.8 TDI that coding is required is this true or just a way to pump more cash from me thanks all

Tdi is VW
You have either a Tddi or a Tdci
The injection system is completely different Tddi/Tdci
However I believe both injector types need coding. Someone correct me if wrong please.
