Driveshaft oil seal

My O/S drive shaft is out for a new inner gaiter.
At 105K would replacing the gearbox seal be an investment or a waste of beer tokens, I don't do a lot of miles.

Also which gaiter, any to steer clear of?

Generally it's accepted that while doing a job it is beneficial to do extras while you are in there, if it is relatively easy and cheap to do.

They have to make sure that if they are pressing things in that it should be done correctly and carefully, you'd be pissed right off if the new seal was leaking lol.

It's me wots doing it but I'm just as capable of fecking a new seal up as any backstreet garage.
What would piss me off more, putting it all back and the old seal goes or put it all back and the new one is shite/badly fitted.
At least the one in there is genuine part and works.

Agreed, you could have a look, if it still has the ridges there and doesn't look worn down then it's a judgement call, genuine seals assuming they are just standard ones should be less than 20 pounds i think.
