Hello!
In November I bought a Ford Transit Connect 1.5TDCi from a dealership in Coatbridge, Scotland. It was a Ford Direct approved used van with 14 miles on the clock.
From day one there has been a knocking sound from the engine every time I release the clutch changing gears. This is especially audible between 1st and 3rd gear. At first I thought that it might be related to the vehicle bedding in, but the sound remains.
I booked the vehicle into the dealership so they could investigate the problem. After a test drive they were aware of the issue and reported the problem to Ford. They said they could not repair the vehicle and suggested I let the problem develop.
I am gutted by this decision because having a reliable van for my work is essential, it is less than 6 months old and I paid for a vehicle I assumed would be faultless.
Is this a common issue?
Cheers
