Bloody Hell ! Thanks for that, On the IVA form they are asking for 1-- The design Gross Weight // 2--The Overall length of Vehicle and also the Overall length of the load area , Have you any idea where I can find this out ?. Also they are asking the maximum engine power which is 55 kw or 75 hp and what speed this is obtained at any idea where all this may be ?

Thanks

John

All the info you need is on your Spanish papers for the van, look at the
inspeccion tecnica de vehiculos (green card)
and it's all there
Please don't send me PM's, i can't access them, when I try I get this:

Thanks Liteace, I do have the green card etc but was struggling to follow it as there is that many different numbers on it. The last piece of the puzzle before I take it for the IVA test is The Engine Number, does anyone know where I can get it from ? will it be on the Green card or is there a way of getting it on-line ? Thanks

You sent me a private message, I get the notifications to say I have a pm but when I go to read them I get this message:

Sorry about that, there's nothing I can do.

Engine number as long as it's the original engine is the last digits of the vin, that's the only info that's not on the green fitcha technica, they only put motor marca and tipo on there.

Anything else you need, post on here and ask as pm does not work

Thanks

Thanks again Liteace ! Yes its the original engine as I bought it new in a Ford Dealership in Menorca. To get it on UK plates is a bit more difficult than I thought, but I want to keep the van as its a real workhorse for me with 3 kids and bikes. Its made 8 trips between Wales and Menorca and never let me down, best car I have ever bought. On the IVA papers they ask where on the engine is the serial number located do you know ?

I will have to let the mechanic know about the serial number as he was searching for it yesterday when he did the MOT.

Many Thanks Once Again

The engine number on the block / head is, have a look at photos 5, 6 and 7 in the 1st post here:

The engine detail are on the right hand column just above the fold, here:

Motor, marca and tipo (yes I know thats for a Merc but it'll be in the same place)

The last one I done from spain I kept the original spanish papers as the van was spending more time in spain than the UK, dvla are a little bit of a pain in the arse, if I was you, get onto Fords to get them to print out a official document with date of manufacture as if the vehicle is less than 10 years old it needs a certificate of conformity, you might be lucky, I can see the Build Date is 09.05.2007 BUT when I done the last one etis was wrong and the build date was earlier, if yours is 05.07 your better off waiting a month

How long has it been in the UK and does it still have spanish insurance and itv/a

I tried Ford to get the certificate of conformity but was told it was a no go as they were not selling that type of car in the UK in 2007. I have emailed and phoned Ford Es and got no where with them. In short DVLA say I need an IVA test in the meantime I have changed the headlights and installed a MPH speedo overlay.

To be honest the car has been in the UK for sometime but not in use. The ITV expired, so last week I had an MOT on it which they do off the VIN number and it passed no problem. Yes it is insured as I kept the premiums going and have the green European cert kept in the car.

Its going to cost a bit to get it done but I think its worth it, in fairness the paperwork for the ITV with the DVSA looks straight forward, but the paperwork from DVLA is asking for a lot of technical specs which they say are on the Cert Conformity, but as I dont have it, its not easy Im hopping when they do the IVA test they may have the info.

I will scan in a copy of my paperwork and DVLA form to see if it makes more sense to you, if thats ok ? Cheers

Listen, don't panic, yes it is a bit of a pain in the arse but quite easy.

Please send a private message to the moderators of this forum and tell them you need to send me a PM so I can give you all the info you need to get it done hassle free, the 1st one I done, I was going to give up as it got rejected 4 times by the dvla but after that the others have been no problem.

We need contact via email or PM so I can give you all the info you need

Thanks liteace. I have contacted one of the Admins to allow me to send PM. Here is a copy of the paperwork. If you want to wait to send me a PM when the system has been set up, thats fine. When I have heard from the Admins, I will send you a test message to see if you are able to recieve it. Just thought id send this over to you to have a look at. Thanks again.

Engine number:
R2PA7L60967

Cylinder capacity:
1753

Tax class:
Private light goods

You've got, number of seats, max power, year of manufacture, original date of registration, that's all ok, in ALL the other boxes just put in there N/A, the log book Ive got for here for 1 I done (they've all been from spain or canary islands) has only got filled in:

A: Reg number
B: date of reg
B1: date of 1st reg in the UK
D.1: make
D.2: type
D.3 model
D.5 body type
X: tax class
P.1: cc
P.3: type of fuel
S.1: No of seats
D.4: wheel plan
K: type approval number
P.2: max net power
E: vin
P.5: engine number
R: colour

the rest of the 19 listed have nothing written there

At the mo DVLA will need a certificate of conformity BUT if you wait till may or even the end of april as the vehicle will be more than 10 years old the certificate of conformity is not needed, I see the vehicle entered spain early may 07 but was not sold / registred till aug 07 so your lucky its build date will be early may or even end/mid april so not long to wait

As you still have the spanish permiso and ficha tecnica I take it you didnt baja the vehicle for export when you left spain ???

Its not a major problem, I'll i'll explain everything and also give you the contact details you need to get a headed letter with exact date of manufacture when I can get a PM to you, I have done one that has dual nationality, its still got its spanish reg and reg doc's and also has UK log book and reg
