Starter wont turn, Ford Transit Connect 07

Hello everyone!

I have a Ford Transit Connect T220LX 2007. This Transit wont start anymore, I have read ALOT of the threads around on this forum, and tried alot of the good tips, but they didnt work.. Therefore I will try to explain the situation, and I hope someone have some tips, or a solution!

I parked the car one day, and when I tried to start it after a couple of hours it wouldn't start. The car seems normal, and everything works, exept that the starter wont turn. BUT, if I'am shortning the starter (with a screwdriver, or a wire), it starts and runs like everything is normal. These are the things I have tested, that didn't work:
- Check all the fuses, and the R1 relay (starter relay), at both fuseboxes.
- Switched the ignition swhitch (ex. picture of the part http://img1.banggood.com/thumb/view/oau ... 2f5082.jpg )
- Tried the spare key.
- The LED, blinks right. No error messages (like 34, 32 or etc).

I'am at this point clueless... Anyone have some tips to a desperate soul??

The starter turns when you short it, and there is 0V when you turn the key...

More often than not the solenoid part is duff, if it's gen ford, have it overalled, or get a new un

Have you checked there are no broken wires and all the wires make good clean contact, live and earth, I had a starter where the nut on the live kept undoing slightly and it wouldn't start, I fixed the nut with thread lock and a month later the starter packed in

At the moment I have a wire from the starter to the battery, so i'am sure about the connection

I have measured between the R1 relay, and the starter and got 500ohms... any ideas?

Problem solved!

After a couple of days with measuring, I found it! There is a quick release between the relay, and the starter. The wire had loosened, but not fallen out! I just switched the quick release, and now it's running like before!
