loses power when going up hill

Postby david_1 » Sun Mar 12, 2017 11:44 am

transit connect 13 plate
starts runs well
it seems happy at 90 to start with but as it warms up it feels like the limiter is kicking in. but if I depress the clutch the engine will rev right up

anyway as come to any hill needing more power it just slows down the longer i driver it the slower it gets

have a said anything that make sense to anyone ????

thanks
David

ok van still doing same but only after a long drive, drove 100 mile each way yesterday at about 48 miles it started playing up. not accelerating up hills in fact it slows down but then speeds back on the flat or going down hill.

just talking with a mechanic type guy he suggested I check the vacuum hoses ? anyone else think this might be the problem ?

And all it cost was a fuel filter , so that 2p less a litre some times is not worth it

Regular maintenance always pays in the long run (especially when going up hills! :-) )

my van has full service history... you can not plan for a filter change with each tank full :)
