wont start from crank but does start being towed

afternoon all,

Van is being funny on starting, its been struggling starting past few days and today it wouldnt start at all, checked battery and its fully charged (brand new battery few months back)
wouldnt jump start from brothers car, it makes a single click when trying to start by turning key.

so we towed it for about 60 meters then managed to get it started, i drove about 4 miles back home, once home tried to start and again single click noise.

is this a starter motor problem or sounds like something else??

Starter is either dead or lose connection on it , if it starts with a tow start then fuel system is ok
it's easy to change as its at the front 3 13mm bolts 1 13mm nut on main power lead and 10mm nut on ignition lead on solenoid
Don't forget to disconnect battery first

thanks for reply, not being mechanically minded i wasnt sure but all evidence/research ive done point towards starter!

Bench test the starter and if it just clicks then it's the starter but if it works then it's the wiring. Clean up the earth for it too
